Love INC plans to give thanks at concert

Correspondent Published November 17, 2009 Love INC (In the Name of Christ) hopes to have people humming a new tune as they present their Thanksgiving Community Concert at 4 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church, located at 2714 Ferry Road.
The nonprofit organization invites the community to come together for the free event and enjoy the talents of local musicians. The organization has put on two concerts a year, one in spring and again during the Thanksgiving holiday, for nearly 20 years.
“It’s a Love INC traditio,” Executive Director Beth Thompson said. “We just want to bring people together to take stock of what’s important this holiday season.”
Musical performers at the event will include Ruth Blake, Luke Hales, Richard Repique, the Sterling Swing Choir, TLC (Todd’s Little Choir), The Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church Women’s Trio, Jeff Miles and a performance by the Stephen F. Austin Elementary Choir.
No ticket purchase is required for entry but donations will be accepted with proceeds going toward Love INC.
The organization will also accept coat donations for its 8th annual Coat Drive at the concert, which ends Dec. 1.
